Navigation & Controls

Mouse & Touch

Left-click + drag
Orbit the camera around the focus point.
Right-click + drag
Pan across the terrain. Two-finger drag on touch screens.
Middle-click + drag
Alternative pan, when a middle mouse button is available.
Scroll wheel / pinch
Zoom in and out, anchored to wherever the cursor is hovering — the spot under the cursor stays put as you zoom.
Click on a drillhole
Open the assay detail panel for that hole.

Keyboard Shortcuts

Alt+T
Top-down view, high above the terrain centre.
Alt+H
Horizontal (level) view from your current position.
Alt+N / S / E / W
Look toward north / south / east / west.
Alt+C
Re-center the camera over the terrain.
Alt+V
Cycle: your current view → top-down (over what you're looking at) → horizontal → back to where you started.
Alt+Z
Undo the last view change. Press again to swap forward — handy for A/B-comparing two angles.
Alt+M
Toggle the measurement tool. Click any drillhole, assay, vector, or terrain spot to start measuring; click again to finish.
Esc
Close the open dialog, or exit measurement mode.
Del / Backspace
Remove the currently selected measurement.

Measurement Tool

Measure straight-line distances anywhere in the scene. Each label has three numbers:

  • Total (top, bold) — the true 3D distance between the two points, i.e. the actual length of the line you drew.
  • H — horizontal (map) distance, ignoring elevation. Two points 100 m apart on a flat map are 100 m of H even if one is much higher.
  • ΔZ — vertical drop from start to end. +50 m means the end point is 50 m above the start; −200 m means 200 m below. The total is √(H² + ΔZ²).

How to use it:

  • Click the tape-measure button in the top toolbar (or press Alt+M) to enter measure mode, then click a start and end point. The tool exits automatically after the second click.
  • Right-click any drillhole, assay, or vector feature and choose Measure from here to start a single measurement without toggling the tool.
  • The cursor snaps in this priority: assay cylinder → collar top → hole bottom → vector point → vector vertex → anywhere on the trace → anywhere on a vector edge → terrain. A small ring + label under the cursor shows what you'll snap to.
  • Multiple measurements stay on screen. Click a label to select it; Del removes the selected one; the trash button in the top toolbar clears them all.

View Dropdown

The View dropdown in the top toolbar lists every preset above, including the Cycle and Previous view actions. The hotkey for each item is shown next to its name — click any item to jump straight to that view.

Layers (Hierarchy Panel)

The Layers panel lists every loaded layer for this project — drillholes, geology surfaces, 3D voxels, custom DXF, and more — so you can control what's visible in the 3D scene.

  • Checkbox on each row toggles that layer (or group) on and off. A half-filled checkbox means some children are hidden.
  • Click a group header to expand or collapse it.
  • Hide All / Show All at the top of the Layers section toggles every layer at once.
  • Right-click a row to zoom the camera to that layer's extent.

Compass

The compass (top-left of the scene) shows where north is in the current 3D view and rotates as you orbit. Drag the compass to reposition it if it gets in the way of something you're looking at.

Navigation States (when available)

If the project has saved navigation states, a Navigation panel appears on the left of the screen. Click any state to fly the camera there; use the Prev / Play / Next controls at the bottom to step through them.

Toolbar Sliders

Terrain sets the opacity of the terrain surface — drop it to see drillholes and voxels through the ground. Assay Scale (when a commodity is selected) scales how chunky the assay cylinders are.
