49 Metals Appoints Phil Carter as Managing Director
49 Metals Limited has appointed Chief Executive Officer Phil Carter as Managing Director, effective 14 September 2026.
Carter receives a base remuneration of A$265,000 per annum plus statutory superannuation, alongside a grant of 2,500,000 options exercisable at A$0.25 per share and 2,500,000 options exercisable at A$0.30 per share. Each option tranche carries a three-year term from the date of issue.
At the same time, Oliver Kreuzer has transitioned from Executive Director to Non-Executive Director. Kreuzer will continue supporting the business through a concurrent consulting arrangement focused on exploration strategy, project assessment and business development opportunities.
The board views the leadership changes as a natural evolution as 49 Metals continues to advance exploration opportunities and evaluate growth initiatives following its public market debut. The company completed a $10 million initial public offering and commenced trading on the Australian Securities Exchange on 31 March 2026.
Chair Richard Pearce noted that the board considers the transition an appropriate recognition of Mr Carter's contribution to the business since listing.
“Since listing, Phil has provided outstanding leadership and has been instrumental in establishing a strong platform for growth through the successful advancement of our exploration programs and the development of the Company's strategic direction.” — Richard Pearce, Chair
Mr Pearce also noted that the company will continue to benefit from Mr Kreuzer's technical and corporate expertise through his ongoing involvement on the board and the advisory consulting arrangement supporting project evaluation.
