AbraSilver Appoints Project Director and Board Member at Diablillos

AbraSilver Resource Corp. has appointed John Naisbitt as Project Director for its Diablillos silver-gold project in Argentina and added Wendy Kaufman to its Board of Directors as Chair of the Audit Committee.
The changes bolster the company’s project development team and governance as it transitions from feasibility to execution following the completion of a Definitive Study and the receipt of key permits. Naisbitt brings more than 45 years of engineering and project management experience, having previously led major Latin American developments including the Amulsar, Gramalote and Cerro Corona projects. Kaufman brings more than three decades of senior financial leadership experience in the mining sector. Concurrently, Rob Bruggeman has resigned from the board, effective September 30, 2026, to focus on his new role with Outcrop Silver & Gold Corporation.
The company completed a Definitive Feasibility Study for Diablillos and received final environmental approvals from Salta and Catamarca provinces in June 2026. AbraSilver subsequently closed a C$50 million bought deal public offering in July 2026 to fund project advancement, including early works and equipment procurement.
“We are very pleased to welcome both John and Wendy to AbraSilver at an important stage in the Company's evolution. John's extensive experience delivering large-scale mining projects across Latin America is an excellent fit for Diablillos as we move into detailed engineering, early works and construction. Wendy brings significant experience in project financing, capital markets and governance that will be highly valuable as we advance toward project financing and construction.”
— Ms. Inkster, Executive Chair
AbraSilver expects to complete an updated Mineral Resource Estimate and a Preliminary Economic Assessment evaluating a potential supplementary heap leach operation at Diablillos during the fourth quarter of 2026. A final investment decision for the project is anticipated in the second quarter of 2027, with first production targeted before year-end 2029 subject to that decision.
Executive Chair Ms. Inkster noted that the company is continuing to build the team required to advance Diablillos toward a construction decision and ultimately into production.
