Aegis Critical Energy Defence Corp. has formed an Indigenous-led alliance with Malahat Energy Systems Inc. and ADK Holdings Ltd., the economic development holding company of the Acho Dene Koe First Nation, to deploy energy storage and microgrid technology across the Northwest Territories, Yukon, Nunavut, and northern British Columbia.

Under the agreement, the partners will jointly deliver solutions across five priority sectors, including mining and industrial operations, remote critical infrastructure, defence and Arctic infrastructure, Indigenous community electrification, and marine electrification. Malahat Energy Systems will lead engineering, commissioning, and lifecycle services, while ADK Holdings will serve as the preferred Indigenous partner and servicing entity across the First Nation's asserted traditional territory in the Yukon, British Columbia, and Northwest Territories to the remainder of Canada's North of 60.

The alliance centers on the deployment of the Tough Bhoy energy storage platform, an Arctic-rated system engineered by Aegis for harsh environments. The platform integrates advanced thermal management and intelligent power controls with quantum-safe cybersecurity provided by Quantum eMotion Corp. Its quantum random number generator delivers a secure communications layer designed to protect against spoofing, command interception, and replay attacks during remote operations.

The partnership incorporates a revenue-sharing mechanism that returns a portion of gross revenue from regional projects to the Acho Dene Koe Group of Companies. The framework also provides targeted employment, training, and preferential subcontracting for First Nation members.

The initiative aligns with federal infrastructure and procurement priorities in the Arctic, including mandatory minimum Indigenous procurement targets and multi-billion-dollar investments aimed at modernising northern defence installations and transportation networks.
