Aeonian Resources Corp. has expanded its 100%-owned Koocanusa Copper Project in southeastern British Columbia from approximately 360 square kilometres to approximately 412 square kilometres after acquiring four additional mineral tenures totaling roughly 52 square kilometres.

Project operator Aeonian Resources staked two new claims near the project between 22 July 2026 and 31 July 2026. The claims secure four previously unexplored areas identified through regional geology, airborne geophysics, and surface geochemistry. Field crews are actively evaluating the ground through geological mapping, prospecting, sampling, and geophysical follow-up.

The expansion follows the completion of an inaugural five-hole diamond drilling program totaling approximately 1,229 metres at the Jake Target within the Koocanusa Project in 2026. While those initial holes did not intersect economic copper grades, they provided the company with its first detailed subsurface dataset across the western copper trend, improving its understanding of local stratigraphy, structures, and alteration.

“Although the first five holes at Jake did not return economic copper grades, they helped us understand the system considerably better. Five holes at one target cannot test a property of this scale, but they can tell us what geological features we should be looking for elsewhere.”

“Our crews are already on the ground testing these new areas and continuing to build the structural dataset across Koocanusa. The objective is to use what we learned from drilling to progressively narrow more than 400 square kilometres of prospective ground into the strongest targets for future work.”

The newly acquired tenures incorporate several specific structural and stratigraphic targets. Tenure 1136819 extends the western copper trend approximately 6.7 kilometres northwest of Jake along favourable Middle Creston Formation C2 stratigraphy, combining an airborne electromagnetic response across multiple channels, a magnetic transition, and nearby surface sampling returning up to 554 parts per million copper and 89.8 parts per billion gold.

Three additional tenures secure an unexplored section of the regional Aldridge-Creston stratigraphic contact, a four-kilometre conductive corridor along the Kitchener Formation, and an eastern extension of favorable C2-C3 stratigraphy.

In addition to the land expansion, the company filed exploration expenditures from its 2026 diamond drilling program through British Columbia’s Mineral Titles Online system. As a result, the principal Koocanusa mineral claims are now in good standing until August 2028.
