Aeonian Identifies Multiple Copper Horizons Across 50-Kilometre Koocanusa Corridor

Aeonian Resources Corp. has updated the geological model for its 100%-owned Koocanusa copper-silver project in southeastern British Columbia, identifying 98 copper occurrence sites along an approximately 50-kilometre western corridor.

The updated database for the flagship Purcell Basin property now classifies surface occurrences into two drilled sites at the Jake Target, 46 sampled sites, and 50 prospected sites where copper mineralization is visible at surface but has not yet been sampled. The work follows an inaugural 1,229-metre, five-hole diamond drilling program completed at Jake earlier this year, which provided the subsurface dataset needed to reinterpret the broader property.

The company's updated interpretation organizes surface showings into three principal stratigraphic levels within the 1,200-metre-thick Middle Creston Formation: the Lower, Middle, and Upper prospective units. Drilling at Jake intersected two distinct mineralized bands near the top of the upper unit, while the Lower and Middle units remain untested by drilling.

The Middle Creston Formation is broadly equivalent to the Revett Formation in Montana, which hosts the past-producing Troy copper-silver mine. In addition to stratigraphic levels, the updated model highlights the role of regional structures such as the McGillivray Fault, which extends for approximately 18 kilometres and is interpreted as a potential deep-rooted pathway for mineralizing fluids across multiple stratigraphic layers.

Future work at Koocanusa will prioritize testing the prospective Lower and Middle stratigraphic units alongside the 50 documented surface copper occurrences that remain unsampled. These follow-up exploration activities are subject to permitting, access, seasonal conditions, and available funding.

In the surrounding district, Canadian Critical Minerals Inc. submitted a project description for the copper-bearing Bull River Mine project to the BC Major Mines Office.
