American Battery Technology Company reported record quarterly revenue of $8.2 million for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2026, alongside an 86% quarter-over-quarter increase in gross profit to $1.3 million at its Nevada critical mineral recycling facility.

The latest financial figures mark a continuation of operational scaling at the recycling plant, following gross profit of $0.7 million in the previous quarter. Cost of goods sold declined 2.8% over the period to $6.9 million due to operational efficiencies. The company closed the quarter with $50.3 million in cash, comprising $49.5 million in unrestricted funds and $0.8 million in restricted cash, while maintaining zero debt.

“We are excited to demonstrate continued scale-up at our Nevada critical mineral recycling facility and the impacts of continued implementation of operational efficiencies, as they exemplify the competitiveness of our technology and market position,” stated ABTC CEO Ryan Melsert. “We are proud of our long-standing partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy, as demonstrated by the fact that very few of the recently terminated grants have been able to successfully appeal the decisions and have their contracts reinstated.” — Ryan Melsert, CEO

Alongside its recycling operations, the company advanced development at its Tonopah Flats Lithium Project in Nevada. The company successfully appealed to the U.S. Department of Energy to reinstate a previously terminated $57 million competitive grant supporting the $115 million construction of the project's first processing train. ABTC originally secured that federal funding package in October 2022 under the Manufacturing Energy Supply Chain office before its temporary termination in June 2026.

The Tonopah Flats Lithium Project sits as a cornerstone of the company's primary lithium strategy. ABTC published a pre-feasibility study for the project in October 2025, outlining a 45-year life-of-mine with a production design of 30,000 tonnes per year of lithium hydroxide monohydrate. The company has now initiated its Definitive Feasibility Study as the final phase of engineering and financial analysis required to move the project into commercial production. project.

Operations face potential regulatory headwinds following a temporary final rule issued by the U.S. Department of Commerce Bureau of Industry and Security. The directive requires U.S. entities selling black mass to allocate 100% of monthly sales domestically starting August 27, 2026, which could disrupt foreign sales that currently represent the majority of the company's revenue. ABTC has submitted a request for an exception from the domestic allocation requirement, with the Bureau of Industry and Security intending to respond within 14 days of receipt. The public comment period for the rule remains open until November 4, 2026.
