American Lithium Corp. (TSX-V: LI) has issued an update following the official confirmation of Keiko Fujimori’s presidential election victory in Peru. The company, which is currently advancing its Falchani Lithium Project and the Macusani Uranium Project in the Puno region, expressed optimism regarding the incoming administration’s focus on economic stability and investment. Leadership at the explorer believes this result provides a clearer political path for the development of the nation's critical minerals sector.

The transition follows a recent Supreme Decree from the Peruvian government that officially designated lithium and uranium as minerals of national importance. Management views the election outcome as a move toward greater regulatory and political certainty, which is expected to support the continued advancement of its flagship Peruvian assets.

"The confirmation of Keiko Fujimori's election victory marks an important moment for Peru and its mining sector. Her focus on economic stability, security and investment has the potential to strengthen Peru's position as a leading critical minerals jurisdiction and support the advancement of major resource projects"

— Alex Tsakumis, CEO

The Falchani project remains a central component of the company’s portfolio. While primarily recognized for its large-scale hard-rock lithium potential, the deposit also hosts a globally significant cesium resource. The integration of this cesium mineralization alongside its core lithium and uranium projects distinguishes the company’s holdings within the region.

This latest announcement builds upon the company’s earlier success in navigating the local regulatory environment, including the June 2026 Supreme Decree. By securing this government mandate, the developer aimed to solidify the strategic status of its Peruvian mineral assets. With the newly confirmed administration signaling support for the mining sector, the company intends to proceed with its existing development strategies for its projects in the Puno region.
