Amex Gold Mining Blasts First Underground Round at Perron

Amex Gold Mining Inc. has completed portal construction and successfully executed the first underground ramp blast at its 100%-owned Perron Gold Project in Quebec, marking the official start of underground development.
The milestone follows the completion of drill and blast activities for portal construction announced in August. With the portal now complete, underground mining contractor CMAC-Thyssen Mining Group has begun driving the decline. The current development program is engineered to reach a vertical depth of approximately 235 metres, providing access to the high-grade Champagne Zone to support a 40,000-tonne bulk sample program.
The company secured the primary governmental authorizations for the bulk sampling program in March, including approvals from the Ministère de l’Environnement and an Authorization for Impact Work from the Ministère des Ressources naturelles et des Forêts.
“With the portal complete, we are moving to on-schedule ramp development that will allow us to access the high-grade Champagne Zone. The first blast of the underground ramp is a significant milestone for Amex. The portal and ramp are being built to production-scale specifications, supporting both the bulk sample and future mine development. This work will give our team direct underground access to the deposit and represents an important step in the continued advancement and de-risking of Perron.”
— Victor Cantore, President and CEO of Amex Exploration
The underground work is designed to generate operational data regarding mining conditions, grade continuity, and metallurgical performance while advancing site infrastructure. Additional infrastructure milestones are also approaching, with the commissioning of a 25 kV power line connecting the Normétal substation to the site anticipated in the third quarter of 2026, subject to final permits.
