Amex Gold Mining Inc. has officially initiated Québec’s environmental assessment process by filing the Project Notice for the proposed Perron Gold Mine with the Ministère de l’Environnement, de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques, de la Faune et des Parcs.

The filing provides government authorities with a comprehensive overview of the proposed underground mining operation, surface infrastructure, and environmental setting. Following an administrative review, the ministry will issue a directive detailing the required contents for the formal Environmental Impact Assessment.

"The submission of the Project Notice is another important step as we move toward developing one of Canada's premier high-grade gold projects"
— Victor Cantore, President and Chief Executive Officer of Amex Gold Mining

The project configuration draws from a feasibility study released earlier this year, which models a high-grade underground mining operation with mineral processing at an existing regional mill. That study outlines Phase 1 proven and probable reserves of 1.989 million tonnes at 12.1 grams per tonne gold, supporting average annual gold production of 147,000 ounces at an all-in sustaining cost of US$910 per ounce.

Initial capital costs for the project are estimated at $193.9 million, with $68.1 million in revenue generated during the pre-production period to help offset initial capital requirements. Economics based on a gold price of US$3,500 per ounce and a 1.38:1 exchange rate yield an after-tax net present value of $1.127 billion and an after-tax internal rate of return of 114.6%, alongside an after-tax payback period of 0.5 years.

In parallel with the environmental assessment process, Amex is advancing construction on its fully permitted 40,000-tonne bulk sample program. The company previously completed portal blasting and retained the CMAC-Thyssen Mining Group in July and August 2026 to advance underground development for the program.

Additional operational infrastructure is also advancing, with commissioning of a dedicated 25 kV medium-voltage power line connecting Hydro-Québec's Normétal substation to the Perron Project anticipated in the third quarter of 2026. The permitting milestones unfold against a macroeconomic backdrop where gold traded at $4,393.00 per ounce, representing a 7.74% increase over the 30-day period ending August 13, 2026.
