Anson Resources Hits 774 ppm Uranium in Yellow Cat Air Core Program

Anson Resources has completed a 23-hole air core drilling program totaling 1,667 feet at the Yellow Cat Uranium-Vanadium Project in southeastern Utah, returning a highest assay intercept of 1 foot at 774 ppm uranium from hole YAC14.

The completed program by Anson Resources subsidiary UV1 Minerals tested a 2,500-meter strike length between the McCoy Group and Cactus Rat mines in the Thompson District. Broad-spaced drilling confirmed the paleochannel trend and identified favorable sedimentary fill within the Salt Wash Member of the Morrison Formation, connecting the western and eastern deposits.

Hole YAC14 intersected the mineralization at the surface sitting atop a 14-foot historical stope. According to US Atomic Energy Commission and USGS paleochannel thresholds, assay values between 150 ppm and 500 ppm uranium signify extreme proximity to a mineralized trap, while thresholds above 1,000 ppm represent commercial-grade ore. The current drilling returned localized pods, with the highest vanadium intercept reaching 18 feet at 526 ppm in hole YAC15, while remaining holes intersected minor mineralization.

Anson previously consolidated an 8.5-kilometer interpreted uranium mineralized trend across the property through additional mineral claim staking.

Environmental and cultural surveys have commenced for the Phase 2 resource re-definition drilling program. This upcoming work will focus on converting a historical resource located 8 kilometers west of Cactus Rat into a JORC 2012-compliant resource, with initial efforts set to twin 3 to 5 historical drill holes.

Nearby exploration activity in the region includes Manhattan Uranium Discovery Corp., which reported high-grade uranium intercepts from a 5,668-hole historical database compilation at its I-70 project within the surrounding San Rafael district.
