Anson Secures $212 Million Utah Tax Credit For Green River Lithium Project

Anson Resources Limited has secured post-performance tax credit approval of approximately $212 million from the Utah Governor's Office of Economic Development for the Green River Lithium Project in Utah, United States.
The incentive is granted under the state's Rural Economic Development Tax Increment Financing program and provides a 50% rebate calculated on projected Utah State tax revenue of approximately $425 million over 20 years of operation. The financial implications of the tax reduction will be assessed in the Green River Definitive Feasibility Study.
The approval follows ongoing discussions with Utah government officials and adds to previous state incentive support for the development. The Green River project is being advanced toward a Definitive Feasibility Study, supported by recent technical work that includes lodging patent applications for a chemical-free iron removal system designed to remove iron from lithium-rich brines.
In parallel with state-backed financing support, POSCO Holdings is funding and leading the design, construction, and operation of a Direct Lithium Extraction demonstration plant at the Green River Lithium Project site.
