Appia Completes Alces Lake Summer Drill Program With Monazite Intersects in Three Holes
Appia Rare Earths & Uranium Corp. has completed its 2026 summer diamond drill program at the 100%-owned Alces Lake property in northern Saskatchewan, intersecting rare earth element-bearing monazite in three of the six holes completed.
The focused summer campaign totaled 1,440.87 metres across Targets 1, 5, and 7. The program was designed to test whether dense rock packages associated with pegmatite-hosted monazite could be identified at depth, following up on anomalies from previous airborne and ground gravity surveys.
Drilling confirmed several dense rock bodies corresponding with the geophysical models. Monazite-bearing intervals were visually identified in three holes, with all such intervals displaying anomalous radioactivity during core logging.
Specific hole intercepts included:
- Drill hole 26-ALF-001, which intersected monazite from approximately 216 to 220 metres.
- Drill hole 26-RSC-002, which encountered two monazite-bearing intervals from approximately 71 to 78 metres and 84 to 90 metres.
- Drill hole 26-RSC-004, which intersected monazite from approximately 202 to 214 metres.
While the company initially mobilized in June 2026 for an approximately 3,300-metre, 9-hole program, the completed work comprised six holes, leaving three planned holes undrilled for future campaigns.
A total of 274 drill-core samples have been submitted to the Saskatchewan Research Council for rare earth element geochemical analysis. Appia expects to release assay results following receipt, quality assurance and quality control review, and interpretation.
“Drilling confirmed several dense rock bodies at depth that correlated with the gravity anomalies identified by our 2024 airborne survey and refined through our 2025 ground survey. Intersecting pegmatite-hosted REE-bearing monazite in three of six holes is an encouraging result that supports the exploration approach used to identify targets within these large-scale structures. With three planned holes and ten additional targets remaining for follow-up, Appia has a clear path to test for additional mineralized volume once we return to Alces Lake in the future. We are eager to continue evaluating the potential scale of the REE minerals system.”
— Tom Drivas, CEO and Director
The company intends to complete the remaining three drill holes and test ten additional targets identified within the central portion of the regional corridor and regional fold during future drill programs.
Trading volume on August 6, 2026, reached 141,050 shares, representing a 213% increase compared to the 50-day average volume of 66,079 shares. The stock closed unchanged at $0.16 on the day.
