Arika Resources Limited (ASX: ARI) has locked in $6.55 million in fresh funding to push forward its exploration agenda in Western Australia. The company confirmed it received firm commitments from institutional and sophisticated investors for a placement of approximately 344.7 million shares at $0.019 per share. The funding round is anchored by resource-focused investment group Lion Selection Group, which is set to emerge as a substantial shareholder with a 6.7% stake in the explorer upon the completion of the placement, which is scheduled for Friday, 31 July 2026.

Beyond the initial placement, company directors have signaled their intent to contribute an additional $700,000 to the treasury. This director-led tranche remains subject to shareholder approval at a general meeting anticipated for early September 2026, with settlement and share allotment also expected to occur in the same month. Managing director Justin Barton noted the resilience of the funding effort in the current climate.

"We are delighted by the exceptional level of support received for this capital raising, despite challenging equity market conditions."

"The support we have received reflects growing recognition of the quality of our recently consolidated 100%-owned gold portfolio and the considerable exploration opportunity that exists across both Yundamindra and Kookynie."
— Justin Barton, Managing Director

The capital infusion will provide the financial runway required to accelerate an extensive drilling campaign across the company's 100%-owned Yundamindra and Kookynie Gold Projects. Arika recently initiated its largest drilling program to date, aiming to complete over 20,000 meters of drilling across the two project sites throughout the second half of 2026. The technical teams are currently active at the Kookynie project, marking the first major drilling phase at that site in over five years.

Looking ahead, the company is positioning these exploration efforts to deliver concrete progress on its project pipeline. The current drilling campaign is designed to focus on resource definition and the expansion of known mineralization zones. Ultimately, these activities are aimed at establishing maiden Mineral Resource Estimates for both the Yundamindra and Kookynie projects. By strengthening the balance sheet now, the explorer intends to maintain its aggressive testing schedule of high-priority targets, ensuring the company remains well-funded to advance these assets toward initial resource reporting milestones as the program continues throughout the remainder of the calendar year.
