Asante Reports 4.6 Million Ounce M&I Gold Resource at Bibiani and Chirano
Asante has filed updated NI 43-101 technical reports for its Bibiani and Chirano gold mines in Ghana, reporting a consolidated Measured and Indicated (M&I) resource base of 4.6 million ounces. The new estimates, effective 31 December 2025, supersede those filed in April 2024. Despite mining 430,000 ounces over the intervening two-year period, the company has maintained its M&I resource levels.
The group’s Mineral Reserves now total 2.83 million ounces, underpinning a seven-year Life of Mine plan at Chirano and a nine-year plan at Bibiani. Shares in Asante are currently trading at $0.85 and are up 14.86% in today’s session.
“These updated, independently coordinated and prepared technical reports underscore the inherent quality of Asante's geological endowment in the Chirano-Bibiani Corridor, and reinforce the thesis for long-term potential at our Chirano and Bibiani operations.”
— Malik Easah, Chairman of Asante
At Chirano, exploration success added 443,000 ounces to the M&I resource base and 244,000 ounces to Mineral Reserves, net of depletion. Bibiani saw a 22% decline in Mineral Reserves and 17% in M&I resources, which the company attributed to production depletion and a constrained exploration budget during 2024 and 2025.
Asante has outlined several near-term operational and exploration milestones. Underground development at Bibiani is scheduled to commence in late 2026. The 2026 exploration program includes upcoming drilling at the Mag Hinge deposit in Q4, with first-pass drilling also slated for Q4 2026 at the Futa South, Aso-Meko, and Chine targets within the Chirano prospecting license.
