Athena Expands Forester Project Footprint by 69% in Ontario
Athena Gold Corporation has expanded its 100%-owned Forester project in Ontario by staking an additional 6,088 hectares of contiguous mining claims, increasing the land package by approximately 69% to a total of 14,930 hectares within the North Caribou Lake Greenstone Belt in the Musselwhite Gold Camp.
The newly staked ground covers dominantly volcanic rocks and strengthens the company’s position along strike of Equinox Gold Corp.'s Musselwhite Mine. The expanded package improves coverage of prospective volcanic sequences and structural corridors, including banded iron formation horizons and shear zones that control high-grade gold mineralization in the district less than 30 km southeast of the mine.
Gold traded at US$4,390.50 per ounce on August 11, 2026, up 6.58% over the preceding 30 days.
"We have now tripled the size of Forester since the initial acquisition last February, providing us with a district-scale position in the Musselwhite Gold Camp. Meanwhile, we continue to await final results from our Laird Lake project in Red Lake, which we expect to have very soon,"
— Koby Kushner, CEO of Athena
