Aurwest Resources Corporation has completed its Phase 1 exploration program at the Weaver Lake gold project in southwestern British Columbia, collecting 324 rock, soil and stream sediment samples for multi-element laboratory analysis.

The program at the Harrison Lake property included 243 soil samples, 72 rock samples and nine stream sediment samples, alongside detailed geological mapping. Field crews focused on relocating historical drill collars and adit areas, re-establishing survey control across the claim block, and targeting soil anomalies from 1990s surveys that had never received follow-up prospecting. Aurwest holds an option to earn an undivided 50% interest in the project through an agreement with Pacific Bay Minerals Ltd. executed on April 14, 2026.

Mapping identified stockwork quartz veining up to 10 millimetres thick and pyrite veining near prominent structural zones, alongside fine-grained mafic intrusions and phyllic alteration. All collected samples have been delivered to ALS North Vancouver, with assay results currently pending.

“Weaver Lake has a long exploration history and some high-grade historical drill intercepts, but that work tested a very small part of the claim block and much of it predates modern standards and reliable survey control. Phase 1 was about correcting that — putting a systematic, georeferenced geochemical dataset over the whole property and tying the historical showings back to structure, veining and alteration. Once the assays are received, we expect to be able to rank the existing targets properly and, we anticipate, define new ones.”

Upon receiving the analytical data, Aurwest plans to use the results to refine and rank exploration targets for subsequent work. The next phase of activity is designed to test the property with induced polarization and resistivity geophysical surveys, subject to favourable findings from the current sampling results.

Meanwhile, active exploration continues elsewhere in the district, where Trans Canada Gold Corp. completed its Phase 1 underground drilling program and passed a provincial mine inspection at the Harrison Lake gold project.
