Aya Gold & Silver Inc. has acquired a new exploration portfolio in Morocco covering approximately 259 km² across three projects for a total consideration of MAD 10 million. The transaction, which is subject to customary post-closing administrative formalities, includes 18 exploration permits and three mining licenses.

The acquisition adds to the company's existing assets, growing its total land package in the country from 732 km² to 991 km². The new portfolio consists of three distinct project areas:

  • Zagora: 158.6 km² prospective for nickel, cobalt, lead, zinc, silver, and gold.
  • Agadir-Melloul: 68.5 km² with potential for copper, silver, gold, and rare earth elements.
  • Goulmim: 32.0 km² prospective for lead, silver, copper, and gold.

The consideration consists of a cash payment and the assumption of debt. In addition, the sellers are entitled to milestone payments linked to future development and resource targets, as well as a 2% net smelter return royalty on future commercial production. The royalty may be repurchased in whole or in part by Aya under predetermined conditions.

“This acquisition reinforces Aya’s first-mover advantage in Morocco and advances our strategy of building one of the largest exploration portfolios in the country.

In 2026, we have expanded our land package from approximately 732 km² to more than 991 km², representing an increase of 35.4%. We continue to secure district-scale positions early, consolidate highly prospective mineral belts and build a pipeline of exploration opportunities that have the potential to unlock future discoveries and support Aya’s next phase of long-term growth.”

— Benoit La Salle, President & CEO

Aya intends to launch a phased greenfield exploration program over the next 18 to 24 months to prioritize targets. This work will include stream sediment geochemistry and high-resolution hyperspectral studies to assess the discovery potential of the new ground. These findings will determine the requirement for subsequent exploration activities, such as geophysics and drilling.
