Azimut Exploration Inc. (TSXV: AZM) has commenced a $3.4-million exploration program at the Kukamas property in the James Bay region of Quebec. As the operator, the company is prioritizing the expansion of the high-grade nickel-PGE Perseus discovery through a comprehensive work plan involving diamond drilling, geophysical surveys, and mapping. This field season aims to extend known mineralized zones while identifying new targets across the property’s two distinct claim blocks.

The primary focus of the 2026 campaign is an aggressive 5,000-metre diamond drilling program. This effort will specifically target the expansion of the Perseus Main and East zones, testing their continuity along strike and at depth. To support these drill targets, technical teams have already completed an induced polarization survey over the Perseus komatiite sequence. The data from this survey identified strong chargeability anomalies, which will now be the subject of immediate investigation to assess their potential for further sulphide mineralization.

Beyond the Perseus discovery, the exploration team is moving to evaluate the broader potential of the property. The program includes a high-resolution heliborne magnetic-electromagnetic survey over 40 square kilometres in the Kukamas West block. This survey is designed to generate new anomalies in areas that have historically seen little activity. In the southern portion of the eastern block, crews will conduct detailed mapping and mechanical trenching to define copper and copper-gold targets located within the volcaniclastic sequence.

This 2026 work plan is part of an ongoing partnership with KGHM International Ltd, which has already earned a 50% interest in the project. The partners are now working toward a second option phase where KGHM can earn an additional 20% interest. A critical component of this earn-in agreement is the eventual delivery of a preliminary economic assessment, a milestone that the current drilling and geophysical work is intended to support.

By systematically advancing both the high-grade Perseus discovery and the regional exploration targets, the program represents a significant phase of development for the project. The integration of modern geophysical data with targeted drilling aims to build upon the project's geological understanding, moving the asset toward more advanced stages of technical study. With field operations currently underway, the company expects these activities to provide the data necessary to further delineate the extent of the mineralized systems across the 337.8-square-kilometre land package.
