Azimut Exploration Inc. has reported surface sampling results from its wholly owned Wabamisk Property in the Eeyou Istchee James Bay region of Québec, highlighted by channel sampling yielding up to 55.8 g/t gold over 1.0 metre at the Rosa Zone.

The exploration program aims to accelerate work across a 30-kilometre-long gold corridor. Mechanical stripping across 10 trenches at the Rosa Zone opened 540.9 metres of cumulative sampled length across 101 channels. The sampling returned 64 samples grading above 1.0 g/t gold and 14 samples exceeding 5.0 g/t gold. Trench WR02 returned 34.0 g/t gold over 3.0 metres, which included an interval grading 55.8 g/t gold over 1.0 metre.

Reconnaissance prospecting along a 1.5-kilometre strike extension of induced polarization anomalies west of the Rosa Zone identified three new gold showings. Grab samples from these areas returned up to 2.88 g/t gold from quartz veinlets with traces of pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite in metasedimentary rocks.

Azimut regained a 100% working interest in the Wabamisk Property in August 2022 after Newmont withdrew from a joint venture. The company concurrently holds and explores the contiguous Wabamisk East Property under an option agreement with Rio Tinto Exploration Canada Inc., providing exposure to a combined 51-kilometre strike position.

Project operator Exploration Azimut staked 35 new claims near the property between August 20, 2026, and September 3, 2026. 

Azimut plans to conduct a minimum 7,000-metre diamond drilling program on the Wabamisk Property starting later this year following ongoing preparatory work that includes soil geochemical surveys, mechanical stripping, and induced polarization surveys.
