Barkly Rare Earths Limited has completed 45 holes for over 1,000 metres in its 10,000-metre Phase 1 resource expansion drilling campaign at the Barkly Project in the Northern Territory.

The 100%-owned project spans 5,030 square kilometres and hosts an initial Inferred Mineral Resource of 40 million tonnes at 2,100 ppm Total Rare Earth Oxide. The campaign targets shallow extensions around this resource, where mineralisation remains open in all directions.

Early operations faced ground and groundwater hurdles following a heavy wet season, but conditions have improved and the rig has shifted to more favourable areas.

“We're pleased with the steady progress of the Phase 1 drilling programme, which is testing shallow growth potential around our existing 40 Mt Inferred Mineral Resource. Early ground and groundwater conditions challenged the drill crew, but drilling rates are improving rapidly and samples are now moving through to the laboratory. This campaign is designed to test for mineralisation extensions that could support a future Mineral Resource update, and we look forward to reporting the first laboratory assays in the coming weeks.”

— Craig Wright, Managing Director

Barkly expects to receive first laboratory assay results in the coming weeks and plans to use the data to support an updated Mineral Resource estimate for the project in the fourth quarter of 2026.
