Big Ridge Gold Corp. has appointed Garett Macdonald to its Board of Directors as the company advances its Hope Brook Gold Project toward production.

Macdonald brings over 30 years of industry experience, including serving as president and CEO of Maritime Resources, where he advanced the Hammerdown gold project from concept to production before its 2025 acquisition. His background includes operations and project development roles with Dalradian Resources, New Gold, and Rainy River Resources. He is currently vice president of operations and general manager of Hemlo Mining Corporation.

In connection with the appointment, Big Ridge awarded 300,000 options to Macdonald under the company's option plan. The options are exercisable at $0.51 per share, vest immediately, and expire on September 15, 2031.

Big Ridge owns a 100% interest in its flagship Hope Brook Gold Project in Newfoundland and Labrador, which is advancing toward production with a Preliminary Economic Assessment underway.

“Garett brings mine building, operations and executive leadership experience that will significantly add to the depth of the Team. This is a critical time for Big Ridge with the company now working on the Hope Brook Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) and advancing the project toward production.”

— Mike Bandrowski, President & CEO, Big Ridge

Big Ridge's board appointment adds regional operational expertise as the company progresses engineering and economic studies at its Newfoundland and Labrador asset.
