Carlin-Style Gold Potential Identified at Bald Peaks

Bison Resources (BSR) has reported positive initial findings from its maiden reconnaissance sampling at the Bald Peaks project in Elko County, Nevada. Field teams collected 66 rock chip and float samples, which have collectively identified a 1.5-kilometre-long geochemical anomaly defined by elevated arsenic and antimony concentrations.

These results are significant because the geochemical signature, paired with observed iron-silica alteration and carbonate decalcification, matches the typical indicators of a Carlin-type gold mineral system. The findings validate the technical model the company has applied to its broader Nevada portfolio, which also includes the Ruby Lake, Cherry Springs, and Medicine Range projects. The company noted that the observed mineralisation is hosted by brecciated calcarenite and jasperoidal cherts, with the geochemical anomaly closely related to a major brittle structure that remains a focus for further work.

The company is now moving to the next phase of its exploration strategy. This involves a systematic soil sampling program designed to map pathfinder anomalies across the identified trend, providing higher resolution for target prioritisation. This work will be complemented by additional geological mapping and rock chip sampling aimed at defining alteration zonation. Beyond surface work, the company is planning to employ geophysical techniques, including airborne magnetic and ground gravity surveys, to better understand the structural controls on the potential mineralisation. These efforts are part of a broader objective to identify and confirm drill-ready targets for a maiden campaign anticipated later this year, as the explorer seeks to advance its understanding of the subsurface geology within the high-profile Carlin Trend.
