Black Horse Mining Ltd has confirmed high-grade gold mineralization at the newly named Sister Rose No1 Splay during face sampling of a west-dipping fault zone at the Mt Egerton Gold Project in Victoria.

Rehabilitation of the Sister Rose adit allowed the team to access a historical exploration crosscut closed off for over a century. Face sampling of the quartz-rich structure in the southern wall returned consecutive samples of 0.60 m at 10.92 g/t Au and 0.7 m at 10.67 g/t Au, while further sampling along the walls yielded grades up to 1.39 g/t Au.

Historical miners previously intersected the fault and its associated veining but did not develop on it. The new assays indicate that grades on the structure sit near historical cut-off levels for earlier periods of mining.

Projected down-dip at its measured -60° orientation, the mineralised zone aligns with historical reverse-circulation drill hole RSE003, which returned 2 m at 5.13 g/t Au from 24m downhole, located 14 metres below the crosscut. This provides early evidence that the fault-hosted mineralisation continues at depth rather than remaining confined to the near-surface exposure.

The underground exposure also corrects the historical site model. Inspection established that the adit does not connect to the Sister Rose shaft as interpreted from inherited plans. Instead, historical ore was brought to the surface, moved to an ore chute, and dropped down to horse-drawn carts waiting in the adit 15 metres below.

The company secured a permit from the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action and Resources Victoria in June 2026 to re-establish the adit. Black Horse previously completed diamond drilling at the project in March 2026, intersecting high-grade gold of up to 46.2 g/t Au in hole 26MEDD004.

A drill rig is scheduled to mobilise in late September to test the Sister Rose No1 Splay and other targets as part of an upcoming drill programme planned for approximately 4,000 metres across 10 holes, concluding the current phase of exploration activity at the site.
