Blue Jay Gold Advances Phase 1 Drilling at Steller Gold Project
Blue Jay Gold Corp. has moved two drill rigs into operation at the Steller Gold Project in southern Yukon, launching a Phase 1 exploration campaign targeting structural extensions of the property's known mineral resources.
The program is split between two primary zones. One rig is testing the Mt. Skukum epithermal corridor, the site of the property’s past-producing mine, while the second rig is focused on extension targets at the Skukum Creek gold-silver deposit.
The company is employing the LithologIQ system to perform real-time spectral and optical core logging. This technology allows the geological team to assess hydrothermal mineralization and structural details as core is retrieved, ahead of laboratory assay results.
“There's a lot of ground on this property, and with drilling now underway on both Mt. Skukum epithermal targets and the Skukum Creek Structural Corridor, the program is advancing as planned testing structural extensions to current resources.”
“Chasing high-grade mineralization targets, and revitalizing exploration here with a modern mindset, is what excites me most about this stage of the program.”
— Geordie Mark, CEO of Blue Jay Gold
The company expects to report assay results as they become available from the laboratory to conclude this stage of the exploration program.
