Blue Moon Metals Launches Major Exploration Campaign at Springer
Blue Moon Metals (TSXV: MOON) has unveiled a comprehensive exploration and resource definition program at its Springer tungsten project in Pershing County, Nevada. The initiative is built around a significant 67,000-metre diamond drilling campaign, which will be executed in two phases to evaluate both near-surface zones and deeper extensions of the known mineralized system.
The company has signed a Limited Notice to Proceed with Geotech Drilling Services to deploy up to six rigs. A 7,000-metre Phase 1 program is set to commence in August 2026, focusing on near-surface targets near the George Pit and Sutton Underground areas. This initial work is designed to refine the geological model and support near-term mine planning, followed by a 60,000-metre second phase that will target deeper, high-grade scheelite beds below the water table. The entire drilling program is anticipated to be finished by the first quarter of 2027.
Theodore Veligrakis, VP Exploration, highlighted the strategic nature of the multi-pronged approach:
"The 2026 program has been designed to systematically advance Springer through a combination of near-surface definition drilling, deeper exploration drilling, and comprehensive validation of historical datasets. The approach reflects a staged geological strategy that prioritizes high-confidence near-surface targets while simultaneously testing the depth and lateral potential of the system."
Beyond drilling, the company is conducting an 18,000-metre historical core re-logging program. This effort has already increased sampling coverage from 5% to approximately 44%, integrating modern analytical techniques to better understand the deposit’s mineralogy, including potential bismuth and molybdenite occurrences. Additional work includes volume and grade verification of historical stockpiles, auger sampling of tailings, and extensive aerial geophysics. These technical streams are aimed at unlocking the project’s scale as the developer works toward its target of production by Q4 2027.
