BPM Minerals Secures Final Approvals for Maiden Drilling at Bonnie & Clyde
BPM Minerals Limited has secured final regulatory and ministerial approvals to begin a maiden 10,000-metre reverse circulation drilling program at the Bonnie & Clyde Prospect, located within the Forelands Gold Project in Western Australia's Eastern Goldfields.
The approvals include ministerial consent to explore on the Coonana Reserve and a Program of Works approval from the Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration. The upcoming campaign will test several gold-in-soil anomalies across a six-kilometre trend along the Yellow Dam Shear Zone, including peak soil results reaching 594 ppb Au at Clyde and 571 ppb Au at Bonnie 3.
Drilling is scheduled to begin within the next five to 10 days once site preparations are completed. The exploration team and reverse circulation rig are currently active on-site at the Beachcomber Prospect, where approximately 5,500 metres across 35 holes have been completed as part of a wider 20,000-metre drilling campaign across the Forelands project. This broader initiative represents the largest exploration program in BPM Minerals' operating history.
"We're delighted to finally receive the final approval allowing us to commence drilling at Bonnie & Clyde over the coming 5-10 days, at one of Australia's most compelling, untested gold exploration targets. The size and quality of these types of targets do not appear often in the Western Australian exploration space. These targets tick multiple exploration boxes, with the size and tenor of the soil anomalies, geology, underlying structure and the Tropicana style of mineralisation already encountered along strike."
"The Bonnie & Clyde prospect was one the few areas Anglo Gold Ashanti was unable to access during their major exploration campaign through the belt 15 years ago. The necessary approvals process has required a large amount of consultation over the past year with the native title party, UUNAC, and the related governmental regulatory bodies. Now that this is complete, future access and exploration activities will be able to be implemented along industry standard timeframes."
— Oliver Judd, CEO
The Bonnie & Clyde prospect has never been tested by drilling and exhibits structural and geochemical characteristics comparable to major regional gold deposits. Assay results from the upcoming maiden reverse circulation program are expected to be reported throughout the fourth quarter of 2026 and the first quarter of 2027.
