Breakthrough Minerals Hits 5m at 3.21% CuEq in Turpentine Extension
Breakthrough Minerals Limited has intersected high-grade copper-gold mineralisation in three new holes at the Turpentine Deposit, part of the North Queensland Copper-Gold Project.
The ongoing resource expansion drilling program is testing northern and down-plunge extensions outside the deposit's current resource envelope. Hole 26TUR005 returned 5 metres at 3.21% CuEq (comprising 2.96% copper and 0.31 g/t gold) from 137 metres.
Two deeper holes also returned significant intervals. Hole 26TUR006 intersected 12 metres at 0.87% CuEq from 235 metres, including a 4-metre higher-grade section at 1.42% CuEq from 236 metres. Hole 26TUR007 delivered a broader interval of 26 metres at 0.63% CuEq from 249 metres, which included a 15-metre zone at 0.99% CuEq from 254 metres and an 8-metre section at 1.39% CuEq from 256 metres.
“These latest results continue to build confidence in the scale and quality of the Turpentine mineralised system, with multiple holes now returning significant copper-gold intersections. Importantly, 26TUR005 has delivered a further high-grade intersection of 5 metres at 3.21% CuEq. This continues the pattern of high- grade zones we've seen emerging from this program.”
“Turpentine already hosts 101,000 tonnes of contained CuEq and is our largest deposit on the Project. With further assays still to come, our objective remains clear - to use this drilling campaign to grow the Turpentine ASX Announcement ASX:BTM 2 resource and, ultimately, the broader 200,000-tonne CuEq resource base across our North Queensland Copper-Gold Project.”
— Nigel Broomham, Managing Director
The Turpentine Deposit is the company’s largest single asset, hosting an Inferred Mineral Resource of 8.7 million tonnes at 1.16% copper equivalent for 101,000 tonnes of contained metal. That inventory represents more than half of the project's total 200,000-tonne contained copper-equivalent base.
Assay results from holes 26TUR004, 26TUR008, and 26TUR009 remain pending and will be released progressively as the program continues.
