Brightstar Resources is progressing construction of its 1.5Mtpa Laverton processing plant at the Goldfields Project in Western Australia on schedule and within budget, with first gold targeted for June 2027.

Recent site activities include the completion of bulk earthworks for the raw and process water ponds, following process plant infrastructure earthworks in July. Concrete work for the carbon-in-leach circuit has been successfully completed, enabling the CIL tank installation team to commence on site ahead of schedule. Primary crusher, SAG mill and thickener concrete work is also well progressed, while borefield development continues with additional bores drilled and cased, and first mechanical equipment—including a vibrating screen—has been delivered to site.

The Goldfields Project is expected to produce approximately 75koz p.a. over an initial six-year mine life. Underground mining at the Second Fortune mine has now concluded, safely transitioning the operation into care and maintenance with high-grade stockpiles of ~50kt @ 3.1g/t Au for ~5koz to support plant commissioning. Planning activities for the Lord Byron open-pit continue ahead of infrastructure commencement in October and mobilisation targeted for the December quarter.

“The completion of the CIL circuit concrete and the arrival of the first mechanical equipment on site are important milestones. Brightstar's Owner's team and EPC partner GR Engineering continue to deliver disciplined execution through the civil construction and concrete phase which has ensured delivery to schedule.” — Alex Rovira, Managing Director

Exploration drilling has also commenced at early-stage targets in the Laverton Hub, focusing on potential Mineral Resource growth and discoveries proximal to the mill site.
