Brightstar Resources Limited (ASX: BTR) has released new high-grade diamond and reverse circulation drilling results from its Sandstone Gold Project in Western Australia. The latest data includes significant intercepts across several deposits, such as a standout 2m at 29.5g/t gold at the Achilles prospect and broad mineralised zones at Bull Oak, where one drill hole returned 239.7m at 0.47g/t gold. These results are part of an ongoing four-rig campaign aimed at infilling key zones and extending the scale of the project.
The drilling serves multiple technical purposes beyond pure exploration. The diamond core components are providing necessary structural, geotechnical, and metallurgical data required to advance the project’s development pathway. This information is being integrated into the ongoing pre-feasibility study, which is scheduled for completion in the second half of the 2026 calendar year.
The company is currently preparing for several major project milestones. An updated Mineral Resource Estimate is expected to be released this month, providing a clearer view of the project’s inventory as the team works to convert Inferred resources into the Indicated category. Management anticipates this will be followed by a second Mineral Resource update later in 2026, which will further refine the project's geological model.
Beyond the work at the main project hub, a reverse circulation drilling program has also recently concluded at the Goldfields Hub, specifically targeting infill and resource extension at the Lord Byron deposit. This work is part of a broader push to prepare the site for an anticipated commencement of open-pit mining later this year. With four rigs currently operating across the project site, the focus remains on building sufficient technical confidence to support the upcoming project studies and potential future production timelines.
