Buffalo Potash Completes First Horizontal Well and Spuds Second at Disley Project

Buffalo Potash Corporation has completed the first horizontal well and spudded the second as part of the second phase of development at the Initial Production Module of its flagship Disley Project in Saskatchewan.

The 565-metre lateral well, designated as the 5D15-10 Well or Producer Well 1, successfully made contact with approximately 95% of the target clay seam along its path. Buffalo Potash also installed an 11-stage packer system along the well to serve as collection points for potassium chloride-rich brine. Drilling has now commenced on the second horizontal well, the 4D15-10 Well or Producer Well 2.

The second phase involves drilling three horizontal wells to establish a downhole solution mining plane using Buffalo Potash’s patented Horizontal Line-Drive method. The two producer wells are designed to bring potassium chloride-rich brine to the surface after crossing the mining plane from a center injector well, which introduces sodium chloride brine sourced from a previously drilled well.

The Initial Production Module is designed to produce 125,000 tonnes per annum of soluble-grade potash as the first of three planned solution mining facilities at the Disley Project. The preliminary economic assessment released in April 2026 outlined a phased modular development plan for the property with an after-tax net present value of US$1.1 billion and an internal rate of return of 30%.

Buffalo Potash targets first production from the Initial Production Module in the first quarter of 2027. The company is also advancing a feasibility study for the Disley East and Disley West mines to run concurrent with the module's construction.
