Buffalo Potash Completes Second Horizontal Well and Spuds Third at Disley
Buffalo Potash Corporation has completed the second horizontal production well and spudded the third horizontal well for the buildout of the Initial Production Module at its flagship Disley project in Saskatchewan.
The second lateral well, designated as the 4D15-10 Well or Producer Well 2, reached a length of 565 metres and successfully intersected approximately 95% of the target basal Belle Plaine clay seam. Buffalo Potash also installed an 11-stage packer system along the well to act as collection points for potassium chloride-rich brine.
The ongoing program represents the second phase of development at the project's Initial Production Module, which utilizes the company's patented Horizontal Line-Drive solution mining method. Buffalo Potash previously completed the first horizontal well in August 2026. Following the completion of Producer Well 2, the company has spudded the third and final horizontal leg, the 1D15-10 Well, which will serve as the central injector well for the mining plane.

The Initial Production Module is designed to produce 125,000 tonnes per annum of soluble-grade potash and represents the first of three planned solution mining facilities at the Disley property. The broader development plan includes two 500,000 tonnes per annum mines designated as Disley East and Disley West, bringing the total expected production capacity to up to 1,125,000 tonnes per annum. The project is situated immediately to the east of the K+S Bethune potash solution mine and north of the Mosaic Belle Plaine potash solution mine.
Buffalo Potash targets first production from the Initial Production Module in the first quarter of 2027. The company's production decision for the module is not based on a feasibility study of mineral reserves demonstrating economic and technical viability, which carries a higher risk of economic and technical failure.
