Buxton Resources Starts IP Survey at Lateron Copper-Gold Targets
Buxton Resources Limited has commenced a ground Induced Polarisation gradient array survey at its 100%-owned Lateron Project in Western Australia to test a cluster of shallow magnetic anomalies for disseminated sulphides.
Geophysical contractor Moombarriga Geophysics is carrying out the survey, which is expected to take four to five field days. The work is designed to map chargeability across priority targets identified from previous 3D inversion modelling of ground gravity and airborne magnetics.
The survey scope includes an option to acquire a pole-dipole line over a selected target to produce a 2D chargeability-depth model with greater depth penetration, should results warrant it. Chargeability data will be integrated with existing gravity and magnetic inversions to rank targets for an upcoming drilling program.
“Lateron is a compelling target - a cluster of shallow magnetic anomalies we consider prospective for intrusion-related copper-gold mineralisation. This IP survey is a logical, low-cost step that lets us look directly for the sulphides we're chasing and rank our targets before we drill, so we make the most of every metre of the co-funded program.”
— Martin Moloney, Managing Director
Drilling at Lateron is supported by up to $180,000 in Western Australian Government co-funding awarded under the Exploration Incentive Scheme, covering up to half of direct drilling costs. Buxton plans to complete the drilling program by 31 May 2027.
