Cadoux Validates High Purity Alumina in 5.5 Mach Hypersonic Test Flight

Cadoux Limited has successfully validated its premium high purity alumina in a hypersonic test flight conducted by Pluto Aerospace in the United States.

The Pluto Dash One Flight 008, a solid-fuel rocket launched on August 18, 2026, achieved a maximum speed of 5.5 Mach, accelerations approaching 150 G-force, and an altitude exceeding 45,000 feet. The rocket's onboard control management system was powered by 3.8 Ah pouch cells developed by Navitas Systems and American Energy Technologies Company, integrating Cadoux's nanosized alumina additive across the battery architecture.

The test flight demonstrated the battery's capability to withstand extreme environmental conditions, managing temperatures ranging from +300°C at ground level down to -50°C in the troposphere while maintaining structural and electrical stability under severe acceleration and vibration.

Cadoux is a partner in the European Union-backed SAFELOOP development consortium, which previously qualified the company's premiumHPA for lithium-ion battery applications. While earlier project updates reported laboratory-scale qualification within the SAFELOOP program, the latest milestone marks the technology's physical validation in an advanced aerospace engineering application.

Building on these development milestones, Cadoux's SAFELOOP commercial partner, ASPİLSAN, is set to commence preparation for factory-scale production of 18650 battery cells utilising the qualified high purity alumina material.
