Canuc Discovers New Near-Surface Gold Zone at East Sudbury Project
Canuc Resources Corporation has discovered a new near-surface gold-mineralized zone at the 100% owned East Sudbury Project in Ontario, tracing the structure over approximately 170 metres of strike length.
Ten diamond core holes drilled into the newly identified East-West Pit Area Zone 2 intersected the targeted chlorite breccia zone over interpreted true thicknesses ranging from 3 to 15 metres. Mineralization has been identified from as shallow as 3.5 metres downhole in hole SM-26-151.
Early assay highlights from the program include hole SM-26-153 returning 20.0 metres grading 1.51 g/t gold, including 5.0 metres at 3.78 g/t gold. Hole SM-26-151 returned 8.0 metres grading 1.21 g/t gold, including 1.0 metre at 7.58 g/t gold, while hole SM-26-152 intersected 19.9 metres grading 0.56 g/t gold, including 1.0 metre at 3.2 g/t gold. Additionally, hole SM-26-160 returned 4.0 metres grading 1.28 g/t gold alongside a 1.0-metre interval grading 4.29 g/t gold. Four of the ten completed holes returned only weakly elevated gold values, and hole SM-26-156 returned 14.0 metres grading 0.102 g/t gold.
The 20,078-hectare property encompasses the past-producing Scadding Gold Mine and surrounds four subparallel fault structures. Canuc funds ongoing exploration across the project using cash flow generated from eight producing natural gas wells at its MidTex Energy Project in West Texas.

“The most significant finding from this work is that the newly identified gold zone appears to be continuous over a considerable strike extent, representing a greater dimension than previously identified for structures at the Scadding Gold Mines. Despite a drilling history involving a number of companies dating back to at least the mid 1970's, Zone 2 sat undetected beside old mine workings in the East-West Pit Area for a period spanning several decades providing support for our thesis that the project area is host to significant unrecognized potential.”

The newly discovered zone remains open to the north, and four additional holes have been completed at the western end of the pit area to test mineralization offset along a regional-scale fault. Canuc expects to report analytical assay results for those four holes once processing and quality assurance reviews are complete.
The company intends to incorporate Zone 2 into its first mineral resource estimate for the East Sudbury Project, which is currently scheduled for release later in 2026.
