Cascade Copper Reports Visual Mineralization at Centrefire
Cascade Copper Corp. (CSE: CASC) has reached a key milestone in its maiden drilling campaign at the Centrefire Copper-Gold Project in northwestern Ontario. The company has completed the first two holes of the program, which were designed to test a high-priority Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide (VMS) target horizon. Management has since submitted priority samples from these holes for laboratory analysis.
Visual logs from the drill site indicate that the initial holes successfully intersected significant sulphide mineralization. These findings appear to align with the company’s internal geophysical modelling, providing preliminary support for the project's geological potential.
"Both holes intersected multiple zones of pyrrhotite, magnetite, and chalcopyrite mineralization which seems to correspond well with our geophysical modelling. I was quite impressed to see the abundance of mineralization and alteration in the core from the Main Gossan Zone and I look forward to the assay results."
— Jeffrey Ackert, President and CEO
Operational teams remain on-site to finalize the current phase of exploration. According to the company, drilling is expected to conclude at the Centrefire project by the end of the current week. Following the cessation of drilling, site teams will continue logging and cutting the remaining core for transport to the laboratory.
The company has indicated that laboratory assay results for the initial drill holes are expected in six to eight weeks. These results will be critical in confirming whether the visual sulphide observations correlate with economic grades of copper, gold, and associated metals. Management emphasized that visual identification of minerals does not guarantee economic success.
