Cassiar Gold Extends Drill Program And Secures Permit To 2031
Drilling remains active at the Taurus deposit within Cassiar North, alongside more than 2,000 metres slated for the Newcoast regional prospect two kilometres to the southeast. At Taurus, the resource comprises an Indicated Mineral Resource of 8.8 million tonnes at 1.43 grams per tonne gold for 410,000 ounces and an Inferred Mineral Resource of 63.2 million tonnes at 0.95 grams per tonne gold for 1.93 million ounces, compared to the 2022 inferred resource estimate of 37.9 million tonnes at 1.14 grams per tonne gold for 1.39 million ounces.

“We are excited to report strong progress on our 2026 exploration season at Cassiar Gold, with over 7,000 metres of drilling completed out of our planned 10,000-metre program,” said Marco Roque, President and CEO of Cassiar Gold Corp. “Our team remains focused on expanding our resource base at the Taurus deposit and unlocking the potential of our district-scale property.” — Marco Roque, President and CEO of Cassiar Gold Corp.
Alongside the drilling update, Cassiar Gold announced that its Multi-Year Area-Based Mines Act Permit has been extended through March 31, 2031, providing longer-term regulatory certainty and operational flexibility beyond existing mine boundaries.
The renewed permit authorizes up to 200 ground- and helicopter-supported drill sites, 22.43 kilometres of new exploration trails, 50 helipads, and 395 line kilometres of induced-polarization geophysical surveys, while permitting exploration activities to proceed beyond the traditional summer field season.
“We are very pleased to have received this amended Multi-Year Area-Based permit, which secures our ability to advance our exploration target pipeline at the Cassiar Gold project through to 2031, providing the runway needed to support our resource growth strategy at our district-scale project,” said Jill Maxwell, VP Exploration of Cassiar Gold Corp. — Jill Maxwell, VP Exploration of Cassiar Gold Corp.
Historical production from the property between 1979 and 1997 totalled approximately 920,000 tonnes at an average grade of 11.9 grams per tonne gold for 350,000 ounces of hard rock gold. Building on this operational history, a Preliminary Economic Assessment led by Ausenco is currently underway to evaluate potential development scenarios for the Taurus deposit, with delivery targeted for the second half of 2026.
