Cauldron Energy Limited (CXU) has officially kicked off its 2026 exploration drilling program at the Yanrey Uranium Project in Western Australia. Following the completion of mandatory heritage surveys and the arrival of drilling contractors on site, work is now underway to advance several high-priority targets. The company plans to execute approximately 10,000 metres of air-core drilling over the next six to eight weeks.

This campaign has two primary objectives: extending existing mineral resource estimates and testing new, prospective areas. A significant portion of the drilling will focus on the Manyingee North and Manyingee South deposit areas. Beyond these core zones, the company intends to conduct exploration drilling at the Cosgrove and Bennet Well West prospects. The program will also include trial drilling on tenement E08/2896, which was recently acquired.

Operational flexibility will define the pace of the work, as the sequence of drilling targets remains fluid. Project managers will determine the order of operations based on site access, the availability of prepared drill pads, and real-time feedback gathered from downhole gamma logging. Using gamma probing allows the company to assess mineralisation efficiently on-site, bypassing the need for third-party laboratory processing and ensuring a faster turnaround for exploration data.

The project currently encompasses a substantial footprint, with Cauldron holding 21 granted exploration tenements and five applications covering 1,493 square kilometres. This position was further bolstered in May 2026, when the company successfully acquired five additional tenements at the site. The ongoing exploration efforts rely heavily on regional airborne electromagnetic surveys to locate buried palaeochannels, followed by passive seismic work to refine target placement. These integrated geophysical methods continue to guide the strategic deployment of the drill rigs across the expansive coastal plain as the 2026 field season progresses.
