Drilling Commences at the Hastings Gold Prospect
Cazaly Resources Limited (ASX: CAZ) has officially commenced a 3,000-metre aircore drilling program at its Hastings gold prospect. The prospect forms part of the broader Goongarrie project, situated approximately 90 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia’s Eastern Goldfields. This latest campaign is designed to test a 2.6-kilometre strike length along the Bardoc Tectonic Zone, a structural corridor known for significant gold endowment in the region.
The primary objective of this drilling is to investigate bedrock gold mineralisation that lies beneath shallow alluvial cover. The company is targeting a high-priority area where previous explorers identified notable results, including an intercept of 38m @ 3.1g/t gold. By systematically testing this trend, the company aims to determine the extent and potential of the mineralised system.
"Hastings is a compelling target with high-grade historical intercepts beneath shallow cover. With approvals and site preparations completed, it's great to see the rig back at Goongarrie to drill test this high priority section of the Bardoc Tectonic Zone over 2.6km strike."
— Tara French, Managing Director
Operational plans involve collecting four-metre composite samples at the drill rig, which will then be submitted to SGS laboratories in Kalgoorlie for analysis. In the event that the initial testing identifies anomalous gold values, the company has indicated that it will re-sample the material at one-metre intervals to provide greater definition of the mineralised zones. This disciplined approach to sampling is intended to ensure that any prospective zones are accurately characterised before subsequent exploration decisions are made.
The schedule for the current exploration work provides a clear timeline for investors monitoring the project's progress. Cazaly Resources expects to receive the assay results from this 3,000-metre aircore program late in the September 2026 quarter. Following the receipt and assessment of these data, the company plans to conduct further follow-up drilling on any anomalous areas as required.
