Century Aluminum Company reported second quarter 2026 net sales of $752.1 million, up from $649.2 million in the first quarter of 2026.

The sequential increase in net sales was primarily driven by higher realized metal prices and increased aluminum shipments, which reached 130,632 tonnes for the second quarter compared with 122,865 tonnes in the previous period. Shipments from the United States totaled 95,057 tonnes for $572.3 million in sales, while Icelandic operations delivered 35,575 tonnes contributing $121.2 million.

Adjusted EBITDA attributable to the company rose to $326.9 million for the second quarter of 2026, compared with $231.4 million in the first quarter. The gain was supported by favorable realized metal prices, sales mix, operating expenses, and power price realizations, partially offset by unfavorable raw material price realization.

Century reported net income attributable to the company of $249.3 million for the quarter, down from $337.5 million in the first quarter. The prior period included a one-time gain on the sale of the Hawesville facility of $287.9 million. Adjusted net income attributable to Century reached $257.3 million for the second quarter of 2026, compared with $170.7 million in the prior period.

Operational milestones during the quarter included completing the restart of the final 90 pots at the Mt Holly project and returning Line 2 at the Grundartangi facility in Iceland to near full production. Additionally, a new power generation turbine at the Jamalco refinery came online in August.

The company's liquidity position stood at $784.9 million at June 30, 2026, consisting of $343.4 million in cash and cash equivalents, $44.8 million in restricted cash, and $396.7 million in combined borrowing availability. Century noted that its cash exceeded total debt as of the end of July.

In earlier strategic developments, Century and Emirates Global Aluminium announced plans in February 2026 to jointly build a new primary aluminum smelter in Inola, Oklahoma.

For the third quarter of 2026, Century expects adjusted EBITDA attributable to the company to range between $325 million and $345 million.

Century shares closed at $45.83, down 2.28% on August 6, 2026, with a trading volume of 3,968,826 shares, representing 185% of the 50-day average.
