Cerrado Gold Inc. has appointed Chris MacInnis as Vice President, Geology, effective immediately. MacInnis previously served as the company’s Director of Geology and Resources since March 2023.

Before joining Cerrado, MacInnis led the Mineral Resource division at GoldSpot and worked as a senior geologist at SRK Consulting. His appointment coincides with ongoing exploration across the company’s portfolio, including active drill programs at the Minera Don Nicolás mine in Argentina and planned infill drilling at the Mont Sorcier project in Quebec.

In a separate update, Cerrado issued 325,000 restricted share units to eligible participants under its omnibus incentive plan. The units vest in 12 months, with each representing one common share.

The management change follows balance-sheet adjustments by the Toronto-based producer, including the US$31.34 million repurchase of outstanding streaming agreements tied to Minera Don Nicolás and the Lagoa Salgada project in July.

“On behalf of the Company’s board of directors and management team, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Chris as Vice President, Geology. It is well earned. The depth of his experience and strong track record in exploration and resource definition speaks for itself.”

— Mark Brennan, CEO and Chairman

The executive appointment supports the company as it advances its ongoing exploration and resource definition programs across its core mining assets.
