CGN Resources Limited (CGR) is set to begin a maiden 4,000m reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at its Christmas Well and Panhandle projects in Western Australia. The company confirmed that heritage clearance has been successfully finalized across five priority targets, clearing the path for the upcoming campaign. Impact Drilling is scheduled to mobilize to the site in Leonora this week, with active drilling operations expected to commence on July 17.

The drilling program will test a series of prospects including Ox Tongue, Lambs Fry, Sweetbread, Rocky Mountain Oyster, and Pelican. These targets were selected following an extensive technical review that integrated historical drilling data, geochemistry, and recent high-resolution magnetic surveys. The company aims to test a mix of greenfield targets—including concealed litho-structural features identified through geophysical interpretation—alongside historical prospects that have yet to see systematic modern follow-up.

Managing Director Stan Wholley noted the significance of the move, which represents the company’s first modern exploration effort across this landholding. The program is designed to test structural architectures that the company believes share geological characteristics with major gold deposits in the Leonora district.

Site preparations and necessary earthworks at Christmas Well are already complete. Beyond the initial five priority areas, the company is continuing to advance a broader pipeline of targets across its Leonora portfolio. The board expects that the current momentum, supported by recent tenure consolidation, will continue to generate further drill-ready opportunities as the exploration team accelerates its work. While this maiden program covers a significant scope of work, CGN has emphasized that these five targets represent only a portion of the total exploration potential identified within its regional landholding.
