Chilean Cobalt Hits 2.4% Copper in Trench 24 at El Cofre

Chilean Cobalt Corp. has returned copper values ranging from approximately 0.2% to 2.4% Cu over a 10-meter interval from limited channel sampling at Trench 24 within the El Cofre concessions in northern Chile.
The sampling program evaluated data from previous owners across three historical trenches, collecting 60 channel samples located roughly 9 meters east of historical high-grade copper mine workings. Chilean Cobalt acquired a 100% interest in the 3,370-hectare project in September 2025 in the historic San Juan mining district.
The work forms part of an ongoing exploration program focused on refining priority targets for future drilling across the La Cobaltera and El Cofre project area. Recent field activities include geological mapping, surface sampling, evaluation of historical induced polarization geophysics targets, and sampling from historical mine workings and waste dumps.
Field work has also extended to the southwest of El Cofre, where structurally controlled copper and cobalt vein systems occur alongside regional faulting. Samples collected from these targets and waste dumps have been sent for analytical and metallurgical evaluation, with certain material provided to prospective processing partners in the United States.
“El Cofre provides Chilean Cobalt with an exciting opportunity to expand our exploration and development focus across the copper-rich portion of the broader San Juan mining district, allowing us to expand the La Cobaltera project area to potentially also include El Cofre,” said Duncan T. Blount, Chairman and CEO of Chilean Cobalt.
The company is integrating new sampling and hyperspectral imaging with historical geophysical datasets and artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities to evaluate structural controls on mineralization.
Laboratory assay results from the latest trench program are expected imminently. Following the initial sampling, Chilean Cobalt plans to execute a more comprehensive channel sampling program across all three historical trenches to better define the extent, continuity, and grade of copper mineralization.
The capital development plan for the La Cobaltera and El Cofre projects is supported by a non-binding Letter of Interest received in August 2026 from the Export-Import Bank of the United States for a potential debt funding package of up to USD $375 million. Elsewhere in the district, Hot Chili Limited reported drill results from the La Verde copper-gold project on September 8, 2026, including 62 metres grading 0.91% copper equivalent from a depth of 20 metres.
