Compass Minerals International, Inc. has raised its full-year 2026 consolidated Adjusted EBITDA guidance midpoint to $230 million, following a fiscal third-quarter result that delivered $39.9 million in total company Adjusted EBITDA.

The company reported a net loss of $5.7 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. Within its business segments, Plant Nutrition recorded $15.0 million in Adjusted EBITDA, while the Salt segment reported $38.9 million.

Edward C. Dowling Jr., president and CEO, noted that the Plant Nutrition results were driven by improved pricing and lower per-unit costs.

“What we are experiencing in our Plant Nutrition business is the clearest example of what our improvement process can deliver. We produced segment Adjusted EBITDA of $15.0 million in the quarter on improved pricing and lower per-unit costs, and we have again raised our full-year expectations for this business.”

“Looking ahead, the 2026-27 highway deicing bid season has been very constructive. In our core U.S. markets, we are seeing substantial year-over-year price improvement and consistent growth in demand tenders.”

While Salt segment pricing rose 9% compared to the prior-year period, segment operating income declined by 25% to $21.2 million. The company cited higher per-unit production and distribution costs as the primary drivers of this decrease.

Compass Minerals ended the quarter with $660.3 million in net debt, a reduction of $85.6 million from the prior-year period. Its net leverage ratio improved to 2.8 times, compared to 4.3 times a year earlier. During the quarter, S&P Global Ratings upgraded the company’s corporate credit rating to ‘B+’ from ‘B’.

Shares of Compass Minerals closed at $30.03, rising 0.74% on August 5, 2026, the day the results were released. The company will hold a conference call to discuss these results on August 6, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. ET.
