Copper Giant Intersects 584 Metres of 0.73% CuEq, Exceeding the Mocoa Resource Model Ahead of the Anticipated PEA
Copper Giant Resources Corp. (CGNT) has reported new assay results from its Mocoa copper-molybdenum project in Putumayo, Colombia, confirming the predictability of its current resource model ahead of a planned Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) in the fourth quarter of 2026. The company’s latest drill program focuses on infill drilling to improve geological confidence and exploring potential extensions of the porphyry system. Shares of the company closed at $0.78, rising 1.30% during the session following the announcement.
Hole MD-066, completed as a directional daughter hole, returned 584 metres of continuous mineralization grading 0.73% copper equivalent, including a high-grade core of 183 metres at 0.94% CuEq. These figures notably exceed the average grade of 0.51% CuEq currently outlined in the project's mineral resource estimate. By utilizing directional drilling to steer multiple daughter holes from a single drill pad, the company aims to optimize infrastructure costs and accelerate the conversion of resources from Inferred to Indicated categories.
"Mocoa keeps coming into focus hole by hole. MD-066 validates the heart of the deposit with long, continuous grade that meets and exceeds our resource model, while MD-065, the first hole from our third rig, reaches the system's southeastern edge from La Estrella and points the way down the corridor. With every PEA workstream on track, we are on course to deliver the PEA in the fourth quarter."
— Edwin Naranjo Sierra, Vice-President of Exploration
The company also released results from hole MD-065, the first hole drilled from the La Estrella target using its third drill rig. This hole intersected 176 metres grading 0.30% CuEq, positioned outside the current resource footprint. Significantly, grade increased with depth, and the hole ended in mineralization, suggesting the system remains open to the northwest toward the deposit’s higher-grade core. This marks a meaningful progression from earlier 2026 exploration, which focused heavily on internal infill and breccia corridor confirmation.
These results follow a series of recent technical updates that demonstrate the evolving understanding of the Mocoa system. While earlier programs, such as those from June 2026, confirmed extensive mineralization through deeper infill holes like MD-064, the current results highlight an improved ability to hit higher-grade domains with precision. The project, located within a 128,300-hectare land package, remains a core focus for the company as it seeks to define the scope of this Jurassic-age porphyry system. Drilling activity continues at La Estrella, with further assays currently pending.
