Copper Giant Resources Corp. has outlined 17 ranked target areas across an 81-square-kilometre study at its Mocoa copper-molybdenum porphyry project in Putumayo, Colombia, with 13 of the targets located beyond the current resource footprint and its interpreted extensions.

The independent geophysical modelling and predictive targeting study, completed by Mira Geoscience Ltd., evaluated the core of the Mocoa deposit, where the company holds an Inferred resource of 1.12 billion tonnes grading 0.51% copper equivalent. That resource contains 12.7 billion pounds of copper-equivalent, including 7.7 billion pounds of copper at 0.31% and 1.0 billion pounds of molybdenum at 0.039%.

The modeling exercise identified two targets within or adjacent to the resource footprint, two interpreted extensions within 1.5 kilometres of it, and 13 further out. The two highest-ranked target areas outside the current resource sit 433 metres northeast and 1,304 metres south-southwest of the deposit along the Mocoa-La Estrella corridor.

“Mocoa already holds more than one billion tonnes, and it sits in a belt that remains underexplored. This study is the first pass across the core of that belt on ground we control, and it gives us thirteen places to test beyond the resource, next to where we are drilling.” — Edwin Naranjo Sierra, Vice-President of Exploration

The company will prioritize the ranked areas for ground follow-up, focusing first on locations closest to the existing resource and the Mocoa-La Estrella corridor where mapping and surface sampling can be conducted from current access.

Drilling remains ongoing at the La Estrella target within the project area, and Copper Giant expects to deliver a Preliminary Economic Assessment for Mocoa in the fourth quarter of 2026.

To support project advancement and exploration acceleration, Copper Giant closed a C$31 million non-brokered private placement led by Denarius Metals Corp. In addition, Colombia's National Mining Agency approved the integration of mining titles FJT-131 and FJT-141 into a single unified concession at Mocoa, resetting the concession term to a new exploration stage.
