Copper Quest Secures Exploration Permit For Kitimat Copper-Gold Project

Copper Quest Exploration Inc. has received the exploration permit for its 100% owned Kitimat Copper-Gold Project in northwestern British Columbia.
The permit clears the way for field work at the property, which covers 6,801.41 hectares within the Skeena Mining Division. Copper Quest acquired an undivided 100% interest in the project in January 2026 following an option agreement entered into in October 2025. The company later expanded the project area by 130% in June 2026 by staking contiguous claims totaling an additional 3,847.41 hectares.
Prior announcements for the project focused on property acquisition, land expansion, and geophysical target generation without an active permit. In December 2025, Copper Quest partnered with Exploration Technologies Inc. to deploy generative artificial intelligence across its portfolio, beginning with an analysis that identified a large conductive anomaly at Kitimat.
The property is year-round road-accessible and sits within 10 kilometres of tidewater, 1.5 kilometres of rail, and 6 kilometres of high-voltage hydroelectric transmission lines. Historical exploration on the ground dates back to the late 1960s. The most significant historical drilling was conducted by Decade Resources Ltd. in 2010, completing 16 diamond drill holes totaling 4,437.5 metres in the Jeannette Copper-Gold Zone. Historical highlights include Hole J-7, which intersected 117.07 metres grading 1.03 g/t gold and 0.54% copper from 1.52 metres.
“Copper Quest is pleased with the timely granting of this exploration permit for Kitimat. With historical drilling intersecting near-surface copper-gold mineralization over intervals exceeding 100 metres and grading more than 0.5% Cu and 1 g/t Au, the Kitimat Copper-Gold Project represents a solid exploration opportunity that is ideally located with exceptional infrastructure, in a proven geological belt known for hosting major copper-gold systems.”

Copper Quest is dispatching a geological team to the Kitimat property in September to conduct preliminary ground-proofing for near-term geological mapping, sampling, and geophysical surveys. The upcoming work is designed to refine priority drill targets ahead of a planned follow-up drill program to test key targets within the interpreted geology and surrounding high-grade corridors.
