Core Energy Starts Tender For Barking Gecko Drilling
Core Energy Minerals Ltd has initiated a drill contractor tender process for its maiden reverse circulation and diamond drilling program at the Barking Gecko Prospect within the Nova JV Project in Namibia.
The initial program will comprise approximately 2,500 metres across an estimated 15 drill holes designed to test the updated geological model for high-grade hard-rock uranium mineralisation. The planned scope includes oriented diamond drill core holes to support structural modeling and step-out drill traverses. Core Energy executed an earn-in agreement on September 2, 2026, with Deep Yellow Ltd and Toro Energy Ltd to acquire up to an initial 51% interest in the Nova JV Project.
The company is also engaging a specialist structural geologist to relog existing drill core and integrate downhole optical logger data into a 3D geological model.
“In line with our rapid on-ground deployment strategy, we are pleased to have initiated the drill contract tender process just a week after executing the final earn-in agreement with the Nova Joint Venture.”
“Our Geological team is ready go, so we will commence the re-logging and sampling of the existing drill core and RC samples for Barking Gecko while we wait for the tender process to be completed and rigs mobilised.”
— Tony Greenaway, Managing Director
Core Energy will run full-suite multi-element analyses on resampled historical holes and new drill holes to build a detailed geochemical model.
