CoTec Advances SCMG2 Multi-Gravity Separator to Q3 Testing and Corem Demonstration Platform

CoTec Holdings Corp. has advanced the commercial deployment of its SCMG2 multi-gravity separator, scheduling factory acceptance testing in the UK for the third quarter ahead of establishing a demonstration platform in Québec.

The SCMG2 unit is currently being assembled at developer Salter Cyclones Limited's facility in the United Kingdom, with factory acceptance testing scheduled to begin this quarter. Following testing, the unit will be shipped to Corem in Québec, Canada, to serve as a commercial testing and demonstration platform for evaluating and optimizing multi-gravity separation across iron ore and iron ore waste streams.

The deployment is supported by CoTec's exclusivity and collaboration agreement with Salter Cyclones, which provides exclusive worldwide rights for iron ore and iron ore waste applications using the SCMG2. CoTec is also evaluating the technology at its Lac Jeannine project in Québec to recover ultra-fine iron units from spiral tailings streams, alongside assessing iron ore tailings opportunities in Brazil.

The multi-gravity separator technology is designed to recover ultra-fine mineral particles below 150 microns that are typically unrecovered by conventional gravity separation processes.
