Critica Limited is advancing an underground mining concept for its Mt Lindsay Tin-Tungsten Project in north-west Tasmania, departing from historical open-pit plans as part of an ongoing Scoping Study led by DRA Global.

Critica owns 100% of the project, which sits within an established mining region. The current study is evaluating portal access within an area previously disturbed by historical stone quarrying, aiming to place mining operations below surface and substantially reduce required surface disturbance.

The evaluation also covers underground backfill to reduce permanent surface tailings storage, alongside an integrated design for plant placement, hydroelectric-powered infrastructure, and materials handling. The technical work marks a clear shift from earlier open-pit development concepts considered in previous project evaluations.

The study forms part of a broader company schedule that also includes development work at the Jupiter Rare Earth Project in Western Australia. Both the Mt Lindsay and Jupiter Scoping Studies are targeted for completion during the third quarter of 2026.

Within the surrounding Tasmanian district, Metals X Limited reported a Mineral Resource update for the Renison tin project containing 21.8 million tonnes at 1.38% tin for 300.3 kilotonnes of contained tin.

Final portal location, mine scheduling, and design configuration at Mt Lindsay remain subject to ongoing engineering, environmental assessment, and regulatory approvals.
